And then, if your problem is with the OS, you will need specialists in that field, if it is with your hardware, you will need hardware specialists, if it is with the software, you need people with knowledge of that specific software version. You need all types of older hardware and OS, as each and everyone has a different configuration. The problem with supporting older software is more about having the resources to do that. My Imac works well and it's a 2012 Imac, i just can't update the IOS or i loose my access to CS6 which is completly frustratingīy but if it works well on your hardware, you do not need support.
Why wouldn't be supported? It work well on older version of Pc and MAC. If none of the "old wares" folks here jump in, I will ping them to see if they care to offer answers. (It's unlikely Adobe support can give you more than a few boilerplate suggestions they simply don't support old sofware on new OSes, and are far from alone in that respect.) There are some folks here who know the very specific ins and outs. It's variable as to whether it can be made to work well, with all features functional, on anything later. At all.ĬS6 can be made to work on a Win7 system, with some compatibility settings addresses. You can't move forward to a new OS and keep old software. (And there are more people than you unhappy with that hard shift in support.) If you want to run a ten-year old system with over ten year old software, your only option is to freeze the whole system in updates. And again, this is very old software in a very fast-moving segment.ĬS6 will not run on any newer Mac at all, since the OS no longer supports 32-bit software. That Adobe will give some help, as difficult as it may be to reach, is not common among major software makers. You'll be referred to more or less static knowledge bases, and not much more. You might try getting support from Microsoft for Win 7, for example. There is a point at which nearly all companies stop offering direct support on outdated versions.
